Nissan’s Latest Technologies

One of Nissan’s biggest goals today is to become a technology leader in the automotive industry within the next ten years. In line with this, Nissan has already revealed technological innovations such as the ‘self-healing’ paint featured on the Infiniti EX35 crossover and the bird’s-eye view camera system.

However, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan said that these two are nothing compared to what’s in store in the near future for Nissan costumers. Ghosn stated that Nissa is currently in the process of preparing for the launch of 15 new technologies that will officially begin in 2009. Moreover, Nissan will also be presenting gadgets such as the distance control systems ultra-clean catalytic converters lane departure prevention systems drunken and tired driver detection systems and vehicle communication systems.

The most popular however is still Nissan’s onboard personal robot project which was first introduced on the Nissan Pivo Concept. This in-car robot will perform functions like chatting and greeting customers and also providing warnings and notifications about traffic speed and road conditions. According to Ghosn, this will be a whole new way in helping car owners in developing bonds with their cars.
